A little bit about me.

I’m a millennial wife to Garett and mom to three precious kids, Liam, Harper, and Delta. I’ve called Northwest Arkansas home since 2012, and I am in love with this place! I became a mom in 2014, thinking I’d rock this SAHM mom gig. About a year into motherhood, I started longing for something more. I loved being a stay-at-home mom, but I also had an itchy spirit and needed to pursue something more. In January of 2016 I attended my first training to become a doula. I jumped into the doula world feet first! Initially I was an independent contractor for a doula agency, eventually transitioning to taking clients of my own. I worked actively as a doula until June of 2019 which ushered in the birth of my third child. The pregnancy and birth of my third child, Delta, rocked my world. Her pregnancy was unexpected and tossed me over a cliff into a deep depression. The doula work chapter of my life is over, but a new chapter has opened.

In January 2021, I joined the Sorta Awesome podcast team as their social media director! This job is perfect for this season of my life. I have been a faithful listener of Sorta Awesome almost since the very beginning. I love the community of women associated with Sorta Awesome, and I’m so grateful that I get to give back to the community that has given so much to me. Feel free to check out Sorta Awesome’s Instagram and the Sorta Awesome Hangout on Facebook. You can find Sorta Awesome in your favorite podcast app.

In my freetime I love to read, crochet, dabble in paint-by-number and embroidery, decorate my home, peruse thrift stores, cook, and hang out with friends. I love personality typing, and the Enneagram is my favorite system (I’m a social 2w3 if anyone was curious).

Experiencing perinatal and postpartum depression has been a long, arduous battle. I continue to struggle with a sense of purpose and identity. But hope springs eternal. Creative pursuits bring me life, and I hope that this little spot on the internet is encouraging to you, too.
